Tiramisu

I love cooking. And recently i started uploading pictures of various dishes that i make, on Facebook. So my friends suggested that i start a blog and post recipes along with pictures. So here i am, with my first blog, thanks to my friends who inspired me.

So the very first recipe that i am posting is Tiramisu. It's an italian cake dipped in coffee and layered with whipped creamNow traditionally they use mascarpone cheese but i have substituted it with cream cheese and sour cream. And also i have omitted eggs.

Tiramisu

Ingredients.

1  package lady fingers
1  8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
 1/4 cup sour cream
2 tbsp whipping cream or heavy cream
1 cup whipping cream or heavy cream (to make whipped cream)
 4 tbsp confectioners sugar
 1 cup fresh brewed coffee
 Cocoa powder for dusting
 Semi-Sweet Chocolate shaved

Method.

Whisk cream cheese, sour cream and 2 tbsp whipping cream with electric mixer until fluffy. (This is substitute for Mascarpone cheese)
Whisk heavy cream until it becomes slightly thick and then add confectioners/powdered sugar and whip it again until soft peaks forms.(This is your whipped cream). Leave 1/2 cup whipped cream aside and fold the remaining into the cream cheese  mixture.
Now dip the lady fingers one by one in coffee and line them in a dish. Pour the above mixture and spread evenly on top of the lady fingers. Repeat same layers again ending with  whipped cream on top. Dust cocoa powder on the top and sprinkle with shaved chocolate. Cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.

Hope you like it.
